IDENTITY:
Poetic - Musical - Philosophical - Political - Artistic -
"Seeing Power: Art & Activism In The Age Of Global Movement."

PHILOSOPHY: LEFTIST / LIBERTARIAN / ANARCHO-SOCIALIST
"What is the natural state? The natural state is ART. Art is self-governed, without order, chaotic in its own anarchy, seeking unrestricted freedom and liberty - that's the natural state of human free will."
ARTIST + ACTIVISTS = ARTISTIC ACTIVISM:
Integrated Art Movement evolving around the works of History, Literature, Political & Humanitarian Issues, Activism through multitasking various of artistic mediums, predominantly Theatrical, Poetic, Musical & Lyrical. Compiled to a series of Zine and published publically. Non-profit agenda. Strictly Activism.
Guerilla Budaya Kollective™ is an independent Artistic+Activism figura, conceived underground by various obscure elements found individually driven by creativity and perceptive political ideologies; unlimited to post-modern, theatrical avant-garde rhythms of the subcultural alternative genres, We advocate humanitarian and natural causes through the workmanship of Bona-Fide Art Masterpieces.

Artistic Activism is the philosophical identity of Guerilla Budaya, romantically (less radical) in domesticating the wild tantrums of worldly issues, through Poetic Lyricisms, Music, Political Dogma, Philosophical Mantra and Theatrical Antics.

FAQs:

What is Elektro Projekt?
Elektro Projekt is an independent cyber-punk cult under the collective of Guerilla Budaya. It's both ideological and philosophical. We're gonna be publishing our very first zine, attributed to the alternative ideology from what's mainly found in the EBM lyricism / music composition. My background was heavily influenced by EBM bands from the US & Germany, my friends are all from the regions where Holocaust was present, in Berlin, Frankfurt, etc. And Americans who are either conspiracy theorists or activists, they are part of my childhood. In my point of view, I was taught in that direction where Industrial music has its own identity or DNA (political / liberal / social) and I never would have realized that it goes beyond that. EBM music is also music and all music belongs to art, though not all EBM artists in the Northern Europe carries the burden of political jargons in their music, I see that it was all perceptive and skeptical of one's point of view.

Will Guerilla Budaya Kollective take criticisms or controversial agenda from the public?
A lot of concerns were expressed to me by other fellow musicians when I wanted to start on this project, I do take their words seriously since they've been in the industry longer than I have. Complications will arise, things like receiving backlashes from the media or society. However, I've also gained some support from my predecessors, and some other pioneering musicians, they have been advising me to not lead on the ideology with the bands / musicians, but to first gather the contents on what the music is about and later judge on how to intellectually insinuate or implement the contents based on the completed analysis. The product would be on their lead, not mine. Before we produce or publish anything we'll present the finished draft to all the bands, and personally they'll be able to edit / add what should or shouldn't be there. I believe in equality and freedom, and I totally understand an artist's point of view, as an artist myself.

What are the core contents in the Zine?
A compiled list of non-fictional short prose / sonnet / poetry in its own content - and gather these poetries as an artwork, Guerilla Budaya Kollective will interview each artists and all the collected details will be included in the profile section.

Why are poetries and lyrics being indoctrinated in the course of your activism?
Why do we start with lyrical poetries? because words consist of ideology, understanding and there's a strong indication of activism which we'll add into our Zine - this is my very own baby - elektro projekt, under Guerilla Budaya. Guerilla Budaya is affiliated with Socialist Party in Asia. We're not radicals. we're not really Anarchists, but we combine the idea of artistic activism and political romance into our movement.

Will you include the artist's profile?
Yes. The zine will include poetries / lyrics which will be discussed with the artists, we'll have a few pages inclusive of the band's photos, the interview details and how people would contact them.

Will Guerilla Budaya Kollective separate politics from its musical or artistic direction?
Although the main concept of Guerilla Budaya Kollective; Art + Activism is inclusive of subcultural underground / political ideology, but we're not the crazy types (LSD/Anti Govt Protest) wer'e more about towards advocating the rights of society within the ART itself, we call it Romantic - Poetry, Lyrics, Music and Theatrical Expressions (we're excited about our gigs and short film screenings), and just like you, we're seeing eye to eye in this predicament, we're actually against political agenda (Capitalism / War / Weaponry / Drugs / etc), politicians / politics are dirty. The reason why we sounded political is because, to get to the core of our movement, we're addressing the issues in which we believe the world is moved by - Causes for Peace, Love & Unity.

How does Guerilla Budaya Kollective scrutinize the work of an artist into a product of activism?
It actually depends on the content of their music, if it isn't political, it will not be manipulated or turn against their own projectory; that's why Guerilla Budaya Kollective is an integrated collaborative art movement, we would like to pursue peacefully with the post-modern concept of Art + Activism, which I will elaborate later on, in all understandings, I respect everyone's stance and opinions, I do also agree on the part where music is 100% art and shouldn't be confused with political or hidden agendas that are irrelevant to it's mission, which is artistic expansion. creativity and hardwork. In negotiation, based on the request as one of our project's artist, we value the artist's artwork highly and respectively, if the lyrics aren't political, we will not place any political sentiments in the direction of this collaborative art with their music, as part of our collective and our contributor in the Zine. Means to say, all the other bands which have no personal concerns with political activism, will remain as political and surely, we will separate their section from one another.

Why choose the EBM genre as a medium of Guerilla Budaya Kollective's identity?
Most of the Industrial / EBM possesses humanitarian, environmental, social, apolitical, areligious, positive messages in their lyricisms, I've grown to appreciate that there are tons of genres in Electro. some are purely dramatic, romantic, some are gothic and melancholic, while some others are political, in terms of political science and natural science, I've studied Tactical Sekt and Dioxyde's work, they do carry heavy political messages in their art, while Combichrist isn't political at all, psyclon 9 is religiously Catholic, and VNV Nation is nevertheless melodic and elusive, I see EBM as a very complex / perfectly engineered, well structured music in a very detailed composition, it's highly artistic and intellectual. It really depends on how your music is all about, if you don't carry political messages, the Zine will not betray your art.

Why do you prefer to advocate the EBM genre and not the others?
In Asia, especially in Malaysia the local scene has been westernized with mainstream music which originated from the underground community, the government owns the media corporation ans tries to domesticate these musicians, they're losing their identity. The same thing that's been going on with the other parts of the world since the MTV days. The alternative music scene is surviving, it was pretty active in the early years 90s-late 2000, ever since then we've been trying to revive the alternative music back into town & to actually educate these younger generations that music is important to advocate a lot of things apart from writing.we're doing this for the love of industrial music and we know how complex it is to synchronize political nuances into electronic music - the final work is perfectly engineered.

Who are your targeted viewers or audience?
Targeted viewers are young directors, composers, socialists, environmentalists, activists, electro /ebm lovers, artists, writers and etc, local and international pioneering artists in the alternative scene. We're currently building network and when the funds are adequate, we'll invite you to perform!

What is your hope for the future of Art + Activism for Guerilla Budaya Kollective?
All of the other underground genres are being regenerated, its coming back. Now what I'm gonna do is to bring EBM / INDUSTRIAL into Asia's scene. Idealistically, there are tons of local electro fans dying to see these genres live!
