My Essay On Feminism, May 15th, 2015

MY ESSAY ON FEMINISM
By Danielle Rhye Avrahamovic

Yes, I'm a Feminist, and I love you. But no. I don't hate men. I also have no hatred for other people, but I hate all the bad things that men do to women and the horrible things that a person does to another person. Why? Because I'm a human being, it's in my DNA to feel that way. I'm a Feminist, I believe in love, peace, justice and equality!

"I have a suffering of my own to share but the suffering you bear is greater than mine, and your sufferings I take, for we are one, a woman is all WOMEN. Though I possess no dark past to render unto you, it is the voice within me that has compassionately aspired to dedicate this humble writing of mine to all of the women who have been victimized or violated by the cruelty of inhumane creatures, in hopes that my voice has reached the oppressed atmosphere where you're being imprisoned. I pray that my letter shall be one of the remedies that could ease the pain you carry in your hearts."

"I'M A HUMAN BEING, DAMN IT! MY LIFE HAS VALUE!"
- human being.

To all women; of the binary, the non-binary, and the ones who stood in between, this story is for you.

I came into this world from the womb of Eve, the vessel of feminine superiority. A female is not only the symbolic representative of birth, fertility and sexuality, but she is an equal both physically and spiritually as to her counterpart, the male.

She was not created to submit her will for the sake of hedonism and debaucheries act this world is dominated by, for she is not a mechanical object, but a living being, with intelligence, emotions and magnificent gifts adorned in her flesh and soul.

A woman's suffering belongs to another women's burden. It is a bestowed responsibility. It is a spiritual journey that transcends through cultural differences, race, and status and glided through the futuristic generations. When a woman faces apothecary, her body departs this world in peace, but her soul lives on, immortalized by the imprinted evidence projected by her strengths and spirited embodiment of magnanimous accomplishments, she gives birth, nurtured her infant, warmth her children with maternal conjectures.

There should be no discrimination in love, for when there exists such filth; it is not love, but hatred. Hatred is an abomination. A woman who refuses to listen or turns her back against another woman's cry for help is a monster. I dare to call her a monster because she has no empathy towards her own kind.  For each woman is God-given as another woman's helper; therefore, every woman is a Feminist.

I am a woman. All women are me. I'm writing on behalf of every woman who has ever been a victim of patriarchal dominance and tyranny, worldwide. It is a calling, and yet it is the most intriguing notion that has stumbled upon my reflections. For every story that a woman has, their stories are either a perfect resemblance or reflection of another woman's life. No women should ignore the sufferings of other women, for they are sisters, and in unity, they are stronger.

Whenever I read the news regarding domestic violence, rape, murders, theft, and other forms of cruelty performed upon my own sex, I'm wounded, terribly. In my mind, I could imagine the miserable treatment that every woman bears each day knowing that their fate is sealed and produced by the very obstacles of social injustice and religious intolerance.

A victimized woman could be the girl sitting next to you on the verve of reaching her puberty and undergoing the challenging adolescent period, at home her stepfather is sexually abusing her;

A victimized woman was that vagabond pregnant lady you saw begging for coins along the sideway, she is of a foreign nationality, a refugee without a home.

A victimized woman is that elderly person you've helped to cross the street not long ago, but her children has abandoned her.

A victimized woman is your mother, for she was physically violated by your father who left her for his lover;

A victimized woman is your sister, she could now being harassed by perverts while on her way walking to school,

A victimized woman is someone's girlfriend or fiancé, who was raped by her partner;

A victimized woman is someone's daughter, she was robbed and murdered in cold blood.

These victims are the women that you meet and mix around with daily.

I WANT EQUALITY!

For you, for me, for her, for him and everyone.

I'm grateful enough to have been born a 21st century woman, back in the older days I would have probably been killed in the genocidal Holocaust or I may have been a refugee in the Vietnam war. Though I wasn't born during the dark ages, I personally abhor violence and war. I am proud to be raised in a multiracial ambient and I look forward to growing old peacefully with my multinational family, as for now I like the idea of being an independent adult enjoying my freedom. In my religion, I am regarded as an equal to the opposite sex. Although there exists such nonsensical religious restrictions which are either man-made or ungodly, that may interfere with the unstoppable urges which are governed by my free will, I am however oppressed by unapologetic forms of political or ideological extremism, I am still a liberated citizen. As abysmal as it sounds, this country is a balanced between secular liberation and religious moderation that takes effect from time to time.

I believe equality is widely practiced in this country as I'm allowed to drive, go to school, hang out with my friends in public places, and do a lot of adventurous activities without being controlled in a combatant or police state. On the surface, my life is great, but then I realized, that not all women in this country are lucky enough to have been able to see the light of day. I know that there are women suffering from mental and physical abuse every day, many other ill-fated women out there who are victims of sexual abuse and domestic violence, this I am aware of. I believe that both genders should not ever neglect the need to enforce women's rights as human rights.

As long as there exists such cruelty against women predominantly the unforgivable domestic violence and discrimination towards either sex in a 'civilized' nation, what's there to be proud of? Megalomaniac technocrats care not of a human's misery. In a country where being eccentric or insubordinate with traditions is more offensive than rape culture – something is wrong.  Prevalently the women being the traditional victim of abuse and her rights denied, the condition in this country has proven me that no matter how advanced the country is in terms of its technological and economic achievements, this country cannot be recognized as a civilized nation, for the governance of gender equality and human rights have not yet completely succeeded. Religious institutions and governmental ministries are sealing the fate of the women in this country. In most part, it has failed to acknowledge the basic principality in upholding the rights of its women, children and family altogether humanity, has accomplished nothing but material possessions. I have yet to experience a revolutionary period of witnessing some tremendous changes in our society.

My hope for this country and worldwide is a very sensible request, I'm not asking for the government to build more state-of-the-art buildings that reaches the sky for the sake of mainstreaming tourism – for this noble deed has been done a zillion times, I'm not asking for the ministers to sell their $100 million worth of condominium blocks to give away their money to the poor – but I doubt that this would ever happened. What I'm asking, is for the ruling government to implement and strengthen its quest for EQUALITY for women when it comes to her struggles in getting her voice heard as a demoralized citizen. I wish for the mainstream media to unleash these women's vocals and document the brutality of patriarchal belligerents – let the world witness the oppression done unto these women such as sexual exploitations, domestic violence, religious bigotry and environmental cruelty.

A woman shouldn't implore for her rights to be prevailed, for women's rights are part of human rights in continuation to seek for individual liberation and social justice.

WHY FEMINISM MATTERS?

Protesting patriarchal oppression: Defense Mechanism.

PATRIARCHAL SUPREMACY

The Psychological Warfare Against Feminism:

"Feminism Is Evil."

In a realm where most gender-based profession becomes male-dominated,  because of a woman's brave act in undermining a man's authority, she will be condemned as a Bitch, but when a man bullies a woman, he will be championed as a Man – alas, in my point of view, he is an Asshole.

Contrary to an ignorant political patriarch's ridiculous and biased point of views, as quoted by an American media mogul and former Southern Baptist Minister in his ignorance,

"Feminism encourages women to hate men, becomes a lesbian, fighting against religions, practice witchcraft, leave their home, their husbands and children. Feminism is evil."

-Marion Gordon "Pat" Robertson, Patriarch

While Feminism is accused of being an organized criminal covenant of witches, a wicked organization that destroys the life of blue-collar citizens; and Feminists as being anti-men, Patriarchy becomes its own constant joke. Why does it that every time a group of strong, independent and intelligent women rises on top of tyrannical delirium in order to defend the oppressed minority, there will be verbal and physical attack towards the Feminist groups from the opposite sex. It seems like these 'Real Men' belonging to the anti-feminist league are either threatened or insecure of the apolitical concept of Feminism. The core purpose of Patriarchy is to demolish any form of movement which empowers women in a society, because Patriarchy is dominated by a tribe of uncivilized misogynistic chauvinists – the powerful rulers or elites that governs the whole institution of the economic globalization and religious institution.

But read this other quote by an Australian scholar and feminist in her defense,

"Feminism has fought no wars, it has killed no opponents, it has set up no concentration camps, starved no enemies, practiced no cruelties. Its battles have been for education, for the vote, for better working conditions, for safety on the streets, for childcare, for social welfare, for rape crisis centers, for women's refuges, reforms in the law."

                                                                                                                    - Dale Spender, Feminist

Feminism Is Not Evil!

Encourages women to become Lesbians?
Because one of its many undertakings in the human rights department, Feminism is hardcore when it comes to advocating the rights of gender equality and sexual liberation, this group is often confused with the LGBT movement, although many gender rights groups are associated with Feminism but each foundation have different purposes and principalities. Feminism has not been the factor in influencing or shaping one's sexual orientation, although coincidentally, in Feminism, the majority of female activists are homosexual in nature and happens to be fighting for their own kindred – the queer and transgender minorities.

They also feel a strong sense of obligation to advocate the rights of other women, which is of the same sex! Hence, Feminism neither encourages homosexuality nor forbidding it, but is positive with one's choice to willingly liberate their sexuality, whether a heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual or even asexual. Feminism believes in the idea of nondiscriminatory sexual freedom regardless of one's ethnic and religious background.

Causes women to hate men, leave their home, husband and children?
Feminism doesn't teach women to hate men; hate is utterly psychological and mostly personal, not ideological. Even before the existence of Feminism, both genders have been at war for all kinds of reasons; there are historical accounts to validate this claim. It is truly beyond idiotic to propose that only Lesbians administer Feminism. Many more, who are heterosexuals, both men and women have been involved with the mechanisms of gender advocacy and legal groundwork, thus they feel the need to connect with Feminist groups and becoming members or activists.

There exists a horde of non-homosexual Feminist who are skilled professionals, these intelligent women are happily married to the men of their choice and breed many children, while there are thousands of marital conflict and divorce cases happening globally which has nothing to do with Feminism, the accusation of 'home wrecker' is obviously irrelevant, moreover absurd and baseless.

Teaches women to fight against religions and practices witchcraft?
Truth is, if witches are feminists, patriarchy would have been demolished completely; the world would rejoice in blissful ecstasy because such supernatural powers could be handy during tough times for women, but that's not what feminism is about! If witchcraft had been part of feminism then the only logical explanation behind a man's death is caused by magical spells. If only witchcraft takes place, it is for greater good or vengeance; I see it as a clean methodology for a victimized woman to eradicate their rapists, bullies, sexual offenders, abusive husbands and boyfriends, and aggressive strangers. But then again, witchcraft is not part of feminism! Feminism is neither theological nor sacrilegious.

Feminism does not interfere with one's creed. There is no way Feminism is affiliated or funded by any religious bigots. It does not indoctrinate either the atheistic or agnostic philosophies in its practicum and has no interest in dogmatic bigotry, because in the quest of genuine Feminism, the true mission is advocating the rights of women and the whole humanity, in terms of human rights, gender equality that revolves around the fight for education, health, employment and social integrity. There is no need for Feminism to meddle with religious affairs and world war because Patriarchy has been doing the deeds ever since. Most religious institutions and militant industrials belong to the ruling government, not Feminists!

WOMEN'S RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS

Feminism Is the Fight for Equality & Justice for All.

The philosophy of Feminism does not only adhere to protecting the rights of women but to men as well, because Feminism believes in gender equality and the fight for both women and men means being a Feminist is being committed to Advocating Human Rights. Feminism is a counterpart of Human Rights because women belongs to the human race, let's not forget, that she is part of you and I, for we are together in this as civilized species, we should render the imperative message through our firm lexicon and deliberate actions that Feminism is part of humanity's quest for social progress and world peace.

According to Hillary Clinton, former first lady of the United States, openly declaring herself a feminist in her quote;

"Let's keep telling the world over and over again that yes, women's rights are human rights and human rights are women's rights, once and for all."

Hillary Clinton, Women In The World's Conference.

Contrary to popular belief, Feminism advocates gender equality for all genders, both men and women including the non-binary gendered individuals – the queer community (tansgenders and transexuals). The doctrine of gender equality falls under the root of Human Rights Law. The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights Council has indicated that a total of 187 nations have endorsed one of its many primary instruments of human rights, – CEDAW, known as the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.  The codex of women's rights as human rights implementation is joined by other 62 countries having reservations on various articles of the convention between the years 1993 to 2011 in the Vienna Convention of Human Rights and the Fourth World Conference in Beijing. The Malaysian government has approved and participated in this legislative measure in 1995. According to CEDAW; as stated in the Article 18;

"The human rights of women and of the girl-child are an inalienable, integral and indivisible part of universal human rights. The full and equal participation of women in political, civil, economic, social and cultural life at the national, regional and international levels, and the eradication of all forms of discrimination on grounds of sex are priority objectives of the international community; Gender-based violence and all forms of sexual harassment and exploitation, including those resulting from cultural prejudice and international trafficking, are incompatible with the dignity and worth of the human person, and must be eliminated;

.......This can be achieved by legal measures and through national action and international cooperation in such fields as economic and social development, education, safe maternity and health care, and social support; The human rights of women should form an integral part of the United Nations human rights activities, including the promotion of all human rights instruments relating to women. The World Conference on Human Rights urges Governments, institutions, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations to intensify their efforts for the protection and promotion of human rights of women and the girl-child."

The above statement concludes that women's rights belong to the Human Rights. The most sought after freedom if the ultimate participation in gaining equality in the work environment, a woman should be given her rights to employment and free choice of profession and protected under the women worker's rights.

Patriarchy is violent: These are men voicing out their fears, ladies and gentlemen.
I rest my case.

THE MOST VIOLENT PATRIACHAL REGIME IN THE WORLD:
The Taliban, Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, if you love books, and you're a woman, They will hunt you down.

Who are they?
  • 100% Afghanistan male soldiers aged between 19 to 60 years old.
  • A group of religious extremist practicing dictatorship or authoritarian leadership.
  • Military-based regime that utilizes tactical weaponry (guns, snipers, rifles), infantry level, not advanced weapons (drones, bio-nuclear, chemical gasses etc.)
  • Does not believe in diplomacy or the fundamentals of democratic legislations.
  • Does not conform to the international conference of human rights or any other types of humanitarian advocacies such as education, healthcare and economic development.
  • Are neither the legitimate disciples of the Islamic Sunni nor Shia, but adopted some philosophies from the Islamic Hadith (non-Quranic) doctrine and manipulated them.
  • Does not believe in the freedom of speech, action or even free will!
  • Abuse of power- tyrannical and oppressive towards those who are against their beliefs.
  • Religious in appearance but not practically religious, the misuse of imagery interpretations.
  • Uncivilized nation - Has never really build anything, like schools, hospitals, offices and so on.
  • Sociopaths - They kill whoever they like, friends with no one and hates everyone.
  • Sexists - Possessed hatred for the opposite sex. And destroys them, for no reason.
  • Supremacists - Megalomaniac narcissists, highly egocentric and shows no mercy to strangers.
  • Sacrilegious Assholes - Think they're above God and God's law.
  • Immorals - Messing with people's wellbeing and free will, likes bullying and oppression.
  • Cowards - Uses fear to control the mass, because they fear that the civilians may fight back.
  • Idiots - Don't even believe in academic persuasions, hates books & including people who reads.

"Wait, is that crazy dude beating up my mom?!" Says the kid.

They should've volunteered instead, it'll be more honorable.

GOOD NEWS: Not all Afghan men belongs to the Taliban.
BAD NEWS: The Taliban kills whoever those are against them.
Although I depend on this photo to interpret the situation but it's a fact.

The Taliban's War Against Women:

In Afghanistan, if you're born a female, you're cursed for a lifetime.  Don't ever think about going to school, taking long walks on the street, in public with the opposite gender, choosing your own soul-mate and going out on a date with strangers, driving on Saturday morning to the market, traveling to other cities or even migrating to other countries. Women's right is absence in this Utopian state of violent and uncivilized nation governed by the belligerent regime claiming to be religiously 'Islamic'.

The Taliban Regime believes that a woman's duty in this world is lies in her reproductive organ, for procreation purposes and maintaining the household, other than that, it's the man's job to go to work, .  An Afghan woman has no voice because she is not regarded as a significant human being, worst, she is not regarded as a human being at all. Her rights to education is denied, she has no reason to vote because even is she was given the chance to vote, the country is dominated by animalistic predators, waiting to devour their 'inferior' preys.

TRUTH UNFOLDS:

ALL RELIGIONS TEACH MEN TO PROTECT WOMEN:

Ephesians 5:25 - Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Colossians 3:19 - Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them.

Ephesians 5:28 - So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

Ephesians 5:31 - For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

(Equality)

Al Quran An-Nisa: 4:149: "Dan pergauilah mereka secara baik, kemudian bila kamu tidak menyukainya maka bersabarlah kerana mungkin kami tidak menyukai sesuatu, padahal Allah menjadikannya kebajikan yang banyak."

COUNTRIES WITHOUT LAW ENFORCEMENT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE:

Saudi Arabia – employment unfairness, women aren't allowed to drive
India – rape culture
Congo – rape culture
Pakistan – denied rights to education, pre-arranged marriage
Afghanistan – sexual abuse, rape, denied rights to education and access to healthcare
Iran – Stoning for adultery, employment unfairness, domestic violence

90% OF UNWANTED PREGNANCIES ARE CAUSED BY:

RAPE CULTURE.

THE OTHER 10% of NON-CONSENSUAL SEX, SEX ABUSE, PRE-MARITAL SEX.

YOU ARE ENTITLED TO TAKE ACTION FOR YOUR OVARY, BECAUSE IT'S YOURS.

ABORTION RIGHTS SHOULDN'T BE OPPOSED, BUT IMPOSED!

WHERE CAN YOU SEEK HELP?

Don't worry! You are not alone. Even if you are, you'll never be alone for too long. There's hope for change and progress!

Damn Dirty Apes - Death Of Optimus Prime

DAMN DIRTY APES
Death Of Optimus Prime
Valve State Dreams, 2002

SPRING
SUMMER
AUTUMN
WINTER

And into the middle of the night only to find yourself sinking deeper into your bed,

Of valve state dreams when the blue resin is stuck to your eyelids,

Of a Sheeva that will destroy,

And an Angel that will take you home with a person that you don't know,

That lives in a place where you can hide from the birds in the chapel,

On the silver beach where a little boy that you thought you once knew,

Holding together your atoms,

While sonic waves pull skin so softly near the moon in my red spaceship,

When you invert your dreams I still think about the beginning.

But I fear,

We are too close to the end,

We
Are
Too
Close
To
The End.

Ipoh, a city long known for its coffee and sar ho fun, will soon be showing its more artistic side. Arts organisation #Kakiseni has announced that it will curate and produce an arts festival in Perak’s capital city in October 2015.

Kakiseni’s announcement came just a few days after Penang-based street artist Ernest Zacharevic unveiled a series of new murals commissioned by #OLDTOWN #WhiteCoffee in #Ipoh. The murals depict the city’s kopitiam culture and tin mining history.

In recent years, Ipoh has seen new F&B and hospitality business enterprises opening in its old town. AKU PUN INDIE!

" AKU PUN INDIE! "

Mood: Tetiba teringat aku kisah ni.

Ada pernah sorang teenagerpoyo (kawan kepada kawan aku) yang diajak lepak sama dekat Cheras, aku pendekkan cerita, dia memang poyo sebab dia kutuk scene Ipoh, katanya:

"Ipoh apa ada! Dah la tak happening, kedai makan tak sedap, jalan longkang busuk. Aku datang sekali je memang aku takkan datang lagi la."

Aku pun tanya dia,

"Kau datang tahun bila?"

"2012."

"Kau pernah sampai Ipoh tak before 2012?"

"Tak."

"Kalau aku cerita pasal scene Ipoh dari tahun 1987 sampai 2007 ko larat dengar tak?"

"Aaah... haha, pehal kau nak cerita? Hmm, apa ada kat Ipoh?"

"Takpelah, ko google cari sendiri, aku cerita karang boleh jadi mengamuk aku ngan kau."

"Eleh, emo."

"Kau umur berapa? Study?"

"19, aku tengah upper 6. Kau?"

"27. Masa aku lagi muda dari ko sekarang ni, aku form 3, aku dah tulis satu zine."

"Oh... Indie ke.. Aku pun Indie! Macam mana Ipoh dulu? Aku tak boleh duduk Ipoh lama-lama, mati kataaak ah. KL macam-macam event ada. Busking, puisi jalanan, bookfest, gig..."

 - Hahaha. Aku double gelak. Sorry sebab tak tahan. Call me arrogant, but.

Aku order hot chocolate and blah, buat-buat ada hal.

WADAFARK.

Argh, you name it. Ipoh, Kuala Kangsar, Kampar, Teluk Intan, Taiping, Batu Gajah, Grik antara tempat kelahiran Indie ARTFAGs. Dah lama gila budaya Street art, street busking, street theatre, DIY zines, graphic zines, political activism, weekend gigs, battle of the bands, rock the world yang mostly banyak band dari Perak.

Zine kena rampas,
gig dengan band organizers kena raid,
musicians kena tahan dekat balai,
pakai subang sebelah telinga kena tuduh Kongsi Gelap,
pakai baju hitam seluar hitam kasut hitam kena tuduh Black Metal,
rambut botak pakai but kena tuduh Malay Power,
jalan sorang2 dekat Ipoh Parade kena tuduh hisap ganja,
main muzik kena maki takda masa depan,
layan lagu reggae kena tuduh hippie,
pakai baju simbol bintang kena tuduh Satanist,
pompuan pergi jamming malam balik subuh kena tuduh melacur,
buat semua benda salah!

So kalau kau rasa kau Indie, boleh tak cerita apa pengalaman kau. Aku nak dengar.
